Our Redbourn nursery

A village nursery where your child is known by name

Redbourn feels like a place where neighbours still wave and children still play out. Our Spectrum House setting carries that same spirit, with a team led by Sharlee and May who remember the small things. Come and see what we mean.

Where little ones find their place in Redbourn

🏡

Our space

Inside Spectrum House, each age group has their own space to call home. Babies have a calm, cosy room away from the bustle. Toddlers and pre-schoolers move between areas designed for messy play, quiet focus and everything in between.

🌿

Outdoors

Redbourn Common is right on the doorstep, one of Hertfordshire's loveliest village greens. Our children spend time outdoors every day, building dens, watching the seasons turn and learning that mud washes off but memories stay.

Redbourn sits just off the M1 at junction 9, making drop-off easy from St Albans, Harpenden or Hemel Hempstead. On-site parking at Spectrum House takes the stress out of morning handovers. The 321 bus connects the village to St Albans city centre.

What makes us, us

The things that matter from 7:30am to 6pm

Every nursery talks about care. Here is what it actually looks like when your child is with us for a full day.

  1. 01

Learning that follows the child, not the clock

Staff work alongside room leads to create activities that follow each child's individual interests. From mark-making and sensory play to construction and small world, children move between experiences that build on what genuinely captures their curiosity.

  2. 02

Their own garden, their own adventures

Each age group has access to a secure garden with equipment designed for their stage of physical development. The mud kitchen invites messy cooking experiments, and local green spaces are a favourite destination for the older children.

  3. 03

Parents kept close, not kept waiting

Rising Stars uses a parents app for regular updates, alongside email, Facebook, and notice boards. They welcome contributions to their environment and practice, building a strong partnership so everyone works together to meet each child's needs.

Our 10-day calm start gives every child a structured, gentle transition into nursery life.
